The rivers Oder and Neisse form the German-Polish border since 1945. Even after the abolition of the regular border controls, this 460 kilometer long line symbolizes the transition between the Western and Eastern European culture.
Granica is a series about the lifeworld of postmodern society far from the demographically young and growing metropolises. It deals with marginal areas and interspaces documenting the process of separation and dissolution from the island of Usedom in the north to the border triangle of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
